Description
Ironstone Telecaster Triple Tone
The potentiometer itself has a centre detent / click for precise control of its position in use which is as follows;
1) Fully clockwise, both pickups are at maximum treble cut like a conventional Tele tone control. As the control knob (not supplied) is turned clockwise, the treble cut on both pickups is smoothly reduced, again as a normal Telecaster tone control (the same is true if the middle ‘both pickups’ 3 way switch position is selected).
2) At the centre detent / click, the tone control function is completely disconnected from both pickups i.e. a ‘no-load’ condition to let the Bridge and Neck deliver their unrestricted tonal output.
3) Turning the tone knob from the centre clockwise, the Neck pickup remains in ‘no-load’ condition, while the Bridge pickup has progressively more treble cut (i.e. the Bridge pickup is now being controlled relative to the Neck). At fully clockwise (Neck pickup still no-load), the Bridge pickup has full treble cut, a little deeper than the fully anti-clockwise position.
